Testimonials

The Fort Bend County Fair Scholarship has helped me attend and thrive at (in my opinion) the greatest university. Attending Texas A&M University has been my dream since longer than I can remember. Thanks to this scholarship I have been able to dive head-first into the Aggie community; majoring in animal science, joining Greek Life, and becoming involved with the Horseman’s Association. I have learned so much about the agricultural community throughout my fall semester classes and as a result have solidified my future plans. Due to the financial help from this large scholarship, I have not needed to get a job while attending classes. Thank you to all the Fort Bend County Fair supporters for helping my dream become a reality.

“This scholarship has assisted me tremendously throughout my first year of college. With the help of this scholarship, I was fortunate enough to not have to take any loans during my freshmen year. This is very important to me because I plan to pursue a career in medicine and I know that path will be very costly. That is why I am so glad to be a recipient because it gave me the chance to pay for my own education without having a burden on my parents."

The Fort Bend County Fair Association Scholarship is a wondrous way that the Fort Bend County Fair gives back to students. I think it is so great that they are able to support us in our college career. From exhibiting livestock in high school to transitioning to college, it means a lot to me that the Fort Bend County Fair continues to impact my life. Upon receiving the scholarship, my mind was able to be at ease walking into the new school year. The scholarship has significantly lessened my tuition costs, which can be expensive especially with living on campus. Also I have had more time to focus on my studies and not have to worry about financials. I am forever thankful for the generosity of the Fort Bend County Fair Association.

The Fort Bend County Fair scholarship has helped me in ways I cannot explain with words. I will be forever grateful to FBCF for helping to provide the means for myself and many others to obtain a post-secondary education degree. The effect that they have on the community is both note-worthy and inspirational.

The Fort Bend County Fair Scholarship has made a tremendous difference in my undergraduate career and I am honored to be a part of this distinguished group of scholars. The generosity of the fair has allowed me the opportunity to pursue my Business and French degrees at the University of Texas with both focus and determination, while also allowing me the time to participate in several organizations.

-Katie Clack

Being awarded the FBCF scholarship has given me the confidence to work hard. The money also helps me spend more hours on school rather than work. I appreciate knowing that this organization believes in my potential to be successful.

The Fort Bend County Fair scholarship has really helped me through my first year of college. I was able to pay my tuition and housing on time, even after the unexpected damages caused by Hurricane Harvey, and was able to focus on my studies without the added stress of financial concerns. This scholarship has helped not only me, but also my family through one of the biggest milestones of my life, and for that, I am extremely grateful.

The fairgrounds have molded me into a strong young adult who strives to better herself every day. The Fort Bend County Fair And Rodeo provided me with many opportunities to practice life lessons like responsibility and hard work. All I can say is that I will be forever grateful for the Fort Bend County Fair And Rodeo.

I got involved in FFA because of my sister raising pigs for the Fort Bend County Fair. All through high school I was actively involved in my FFA chapter raising 3 pigs and a lamb for the Fort Bend County Fair. I even participated in livestock judging, as well as Exceptional Rodeo at the fair grounds. Through my participation in the fair I have learned many life skills and responsibilities. The Fort Bend County Fair has been a big influence in me going to Texas A&M and being in the agriculture college. Receiving a scholarship from the fair has allowed me not to have to worry about how I am going to fund my education. They are one of the reasons I am at a tier one research university, have had the opportunity of making new friends, and grow as a person. At Texas A&M, I was able to join and become President of a Christian Sorority, Phi Beta Chi. The fair helped me find a family in high school through FFA and now in college with my sorority sisters.

With the help of the FBCF scholarship, I was able to continue my education at Stephen F. Austin State University. It has enabled me to not have to focus on the money issue as much, because I know a small chunk was taken off my bill thanks to this scholarship. If I had not received this scholarship, I would be trying to figure out how to afford my next semester. This scholarship opened doors for me and lifted some of the financial burden away. I am so thankful and grateful! Thank you FBCF Scholarship association for providing me this amazing opportunity.

The Fort Bend County Fair continues giving back even after I retired from showing. Receiving the Fort Bend County Fair Scholarship for the second year in a row has helped me tremendously. Growing up on a small farm outside of Needville and being involved showing through 4-H has given me the ability to grow such a passion for the agriculture industry and everyone involved. The scholarship has helped me so I do not have to pay as much out of pocket for tuition. Upon graduation I hope to open my own feed store and boutique so I can help the local farmers and ranchers and everyone involved in livestock industry. I cannot thank the Fort Bend County Fair enough for the continuous support.

-Caitlin Wesneski

"I am honored and grateful to be a recipient of the Fort Bend County Fair Scholarship. Most of my undergraduate education is funded through grants, loans, and scholarships. Without scholarship patrons willing to support young students many career aspirations are cut down short. I am beyond grateful that mine are able to flourish. My journey to medical school is made plausible due to the generous donation from organizations like the Fort Bend County Fair Association. This scholarship gives me the comfort and support needed to guide me through each semester of my college experience at Baylor University. Thank you to all the sponsors of the Fort Bend County Association that made this possible."
